Norýo family

Hi, we’re Corey, Marjo, and Noah—a photographer, a creative mastermind, and the tiniest boss you’ll ever meet. Together, we’re Norýo.

This all started one day when we were searching for something cool to hang in Noah’s room. You’d think it’d be easy to find fun, inspiring art for kids, right? Nope. Everything out there seemed designed for Instagram feeds rather than actual kids. Beige this, minimalist that… sure, it’s trendy, but where’s the fun? Where’s the story? Where’s the spark? And that’s when the lightbulb went off and Norýo was born.

The backstory

Corey’s the guy behind the lens. He’s been a commercial photographer for years. But he started out photographing families and kids, so he knows exactly how to get them smiling—even if it involves a lot of silly faces.

Then there’s Marjo, the creative critic. She’s the one who makes sure Corey doesn’t get too wild with his ideas (or slack off, for that matter). When she’s not crafting, sewing, or singing around the house, she’s pointing out what works and what definitely doesn’t.

And finally, there’s Noah, the CEO of Cool Ideas. She’s our biggest inspiration and toughest critic. If it doesn’t make her eyes light up or her imagination take off, it’s a no-go.

Our Mission

At Norýo, we believe that a child’s room is more than just a place to sleep, it’s their personal universe, a space where imagination takes flight and stories come to life. That’s why we design art that does more than just look pretty on a wall. Our storytelling illustrations create immersive worlds that invite children to dream, explore, and think creatively.

Why Storytelling Art?

Children learn through stories. From ancient cave paintings to bedtime fairy tales, storytelling has always been a powerful tool for education and development. Our illustrations bring that same magic into kids’ everyday environments, transforming their walls into endless story possibilities.

The Educational Power of Visual Storytelling

Our art isn’t just fun, it helps children develop essential cognitive and creative skills:

  • Boosts Creativity: Story-rich illustrations encourage kids to make up their own narratives, develop characters, and create their own adventures.
  • Enhances Critical Thinking: Imagining different possibilities, problem-solving within a story, and thinking about "what happens next?" all build crucial analytical skills.
  • Supports Language Development: Seeing visually rich scenes inspires kids to describe what they see, expanding their vocabulary and storytelling abilities.
  • Encourages Emotional Intelligence: Art featuring different characters and scenarios helps children understand emotions, relationships, and empathy.
  • Stimulates Curiosity & Learning: A deep-sea adventure might spark an interest in marine biology; a space scene could lead to a fascination with astronomy.

Beyond Minimalism – Art That Engages

We love beautiful design, but we also know that kids need more than minimalism. A simple abstract print may match the furniture, but does it inspire a child’s imagination? We believe in art that speaks to children, art that feels like an invitation to play, dream, and learn.

Norýo is here to make kids’ rooms more than just spaces, they’re launching pads for creativity, places where young minds can dream as big as the universe.

Because when walls tell stories, kids start writing their own.

It's about the why.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room. Yes, we use the help of AI to create our artwork for kids. We know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and we’d love to talk about the criticism around the use of AI and why we believe it can be a useful tool when used with respect and responsibility.

What we make isn’t for museums or art critics. It’s for kids. It’s for children who look at a picture and see a story waiting to unfold. It’s about giving them something to dream about.

We understand that AI can feel like a threat to traditional artistry. And honestly, we love art in all its forms. But we also believe that art isn’t just about ‘how’ it’s made; it’s about the ‘why’. For us, the ‘why’ is simple: we want to create something that makes kids excited, curious, and inspired. AI just happens to be the best tool to help us do that.

Of course, there’s criticism of AI in the art world, and we respect that. But we feel ignoring its potential would be a missed opportunity. Technology is here to stay, and like every creative tool before it, it’s up to us to use it thoughtfully and responsibly. For us, that means using AI to create art that kids can connect with, dream about, and be inspired by.

So no, we’re not trying to replace “traditional” artists. We’re not claiming our work belongs in a museum. We’re just a couple of parents who couldn’t find what we were looking for and decided to create it ourselves. At the end of the day, it’s not about the tool; it’s about the idea behind it.
